Forum Listing and Forum Links Related Information
Forums related to your website's subject matter and content are, like blogs, another great place
to get links back to your website.

Although spamming forums and blogs is not accepted and highly discouraged if you want to
maintain a high-quality website, placing appropriate links along with helpful, relevant posts or
comments that contribute to the forum or blog audience is a great way to get relevant links to
your website. (On the other hand, obvious spamming of the same forums or blogs can have a
negative impact on your site.)

Try to find some popular forums that are related to your site's content and positively contribute
to the forum discussions.

For example: Fodor's (the travel folks) have a very popular forum. quite some time ago, I
answered someone's question about shopping in Bangkok. I also signed my response with my
url, BangkokDentistry.com. Initially, I received quite a bit of traffic from that link (when it was
fresh), but the link is still there and I still get a hit from that link from time to time. More
importantly, it also serves as link that search engines can follow back to my site.

If you have a website that deals with music, you might answer someone's question about the
best place for live jazz in your city. Be sure to give them a helpful answer, maybe even adding
a link to your favorite jazz club, and either post using your URL or place a link in your answer
(whatever the forum rules allow).

*DigitalPoint is a great forum for webmasters. there are many topics and dicussions that a
beginning webmaster can learn from and there is good response when you have a question.
