Submitting to article directories can establish links, not only to the directories themselves, but a well written
article may be published on another site leading to a one-way link for your website.

Article directories are also a great source of content for website. Webmasters can find articles written on any
subject to post on their website. Some article directories are better than others and the best of them will
have very few links that you will have to keep active if you decide to post one of their articles on your site.
These are usually found in the author information or article source blocks and consist of one to three links to
promote the author's interests and another for the article directory. The directories that allow links only in the
author info or article source blocks usually have the best quality articles. Some lower-end article farms allow
for links throughout the text of the articles as well as the footer. These directories tend to attract "article
spam" or very poorly written articles with several keyword links posted throughout.

article directories that have a similar format so that your article pages look consistant throughout your site
and you limit the number of sites to which you have outbound links.
